Our Story:
Two men had a baby in 1931, and named it after themselves. Since then, a lot's changed.
Our goal: to become one of the world's most innovative companies.
We're a creativity company that delivers business impact by involving people in brand experiences.
Surviving in such a competitive market requires embracing a constant state of transformation. Necessity begets invention. And we've not only stayed ahead of the curve, in many cases we've carved the turn. We don't look much like just an advertising agency anymore?
Some marks of entrepreneurial creativity we're proudest of:
Writing and producing our own TV show.
Building a line of DIY furniture.
Defining a new level of accountability with our performance marketing practice - where we're compensated for the leads we generate.
Starting our own online aggregator so we could understand how to work as media vendor as well as planner.
Building an online media player that enabled live syndication for the first time ever.
Being recognized as a leader and innovator in integrated marketing.
The gig:
Job 1: Inspire, inform, and protect creativity.
Job 2: Come up with the most interesting right answer.
* Lead responsibility on other agency projects, and shared responsibility over the entire client list.
* Line responsibility for other planners in the department: overseeing their work and progress, and working with the Director of Insights & Culture to develop the department's skills and exposure to new ideas, models and ways of thinking.
* Play a key role periodically in the agency's new business team.
* Oversee the work of outside vendors conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects.
* Conduct qualitative research projects and/or oversee the execution of those projects.
* Write astute, energizing briefs, in partnership with Business Leadership colleagues.
* Explode the potential of other account planners, as assigned.
* Collaborate with Connections architects and engineers - understanding & co-creating new technology on one hand and digital anthropology on the other.
* Be the conscience of what we contribute to culture - to make sure the client and agency can look any of their consumers in the eye, and be proud of the way they've participated in their lives and work.
A little about you:
* 5+ years of experience on either the client or agency side of brand advertising
* 3+ years of experience as a strategic planner, with overarching responsibility for strategic direction on key accounts
* Personal involvement in the development of outstanding creative advertising
* Experience mentoring other account planners
* Experience winning the trust of award-winning creative teams (especially young, culturally savvy, risk-takers with a passion for breaking new ground)
* Understanding of Internet technologies and Internet marketing strategies
* Maybe you've already won a Chiat, effie, you know (and want to continue to win them)
The cool stuff.
Comprehensive benefits package: includes, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and sick days, 9 company-paid holidays, Summer Hours, Flexible Spending Accounts, discounts at vendors no matter if you are a MAC or a PC, and fresh fruit Mondays
