The gig: You'll transform the connections strategy & vision into a functional media plan and bring it to life with smart tactics: You're the executional thought leadership and client facing executional lead.
Some stuff you'll be responsible for (the biggies):
- Developing smart, innovative consumer inspired media strategies and tactics that support the connections strategy
- Ensuring the overall health of the campaign and stewarding the plan to meet stated objectives
- Demonstrating innovative and creative thinking that is drawn from your knowledge and experience of best practices in media and knowledge of a client's business.
- Driving the business forward by expanding and sharing knowledge of new opportunities across the organization through industry research, industry events, and through vendor/publisher meetings
And also:
- Identifying and recommending opportunities to improve infrastructure and processes
- Oversight of data gathering activities for major media plans
- Developing media insights based on available data (client, third party, campaign data and observed behaviors)
- Assisting with major proposal evaluations
- Provide assessments and recommendations for media opportunities that develop through the course of business
- Lead and contribute to client status meetings
- Articulating the value that the media team has brought to bear beyond the expected, internally and externally
A little about you:
3-6 years experience managing media (online and offline)
2-4 years experience managing online media
Experience at an advertising/media agency preferred
Experienced with online tools such as ad exchanges i.e doubleclick (and how to use them), Plan/ComScore, AdRelevance, Hitwise.
4 year degree in advertising or related field preferred
Strong analytical skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Experience managing staff a plus

The gig:
Job 1: Inspire, inform, and protect creativity.
Job 2: Come up with the most interesting right answer.
* Lead responsibility on other agency projects, and shared responsibility over the entire client list.
* Line responsibility for other planners in the department: overseeing their work and progress, and working with the Director of Insights & Culture to develop the department's skills and exposure to new ideas, models and ways of thinking.
* Play a key role periodically in the agency's new business team.
* Oversee the work of outside vendors conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects.
* Conduct qualitative research projects and/or oversee the execution of those projects.
* Write astute, energizing briefs, in partnership with Business Leadership colleagues.
* Explode the potential of other account planners, as assigned.
* Collaborate with Connections architects and engineers - understanding & co-creating new technology on one hand and digital anthropology on the other.
* Be the conscience of what we contribute to culture - to make sure the client and agency can look any of their consumers in the eye, and be proud of the way they've participated in their lives and work.
A little about you:
* 5+ years of experience on either the client or agency side of brand advertising
* 3+ years of experience as a strategic planner, with overarching responsibility for strategic direction on key accounts
* Personal involvement in the development of outstanding creative advertising
* Experience mentoring other account planners
* Experience winning the trust of award-winning creative teams (especially young, culturally savvy, risk-takers with a passion for breaking new ground)
* Understanding of Internet technologies and Internet marketing strategies
