Full-Time, Day/Evening Shift
Nationwide Children's Hospital, a 352-bed facility, is among the most comprehensive, free-standing, pediatric academic medical centers in the nation. The Safety Technician is responsible for conducting continuing education for all NCH staff members in fire and safety including site specific education (i.e. Homecare PICU/NICU etc) for unit staff as well as quarterly safety inspections and follow-ups on all NCH off campus facilities. Other duties will include assisting the Safety Director in conducting routine as well as requested safety inspections on NCH main campus, TB respirator fit tests for all NCH staff and related agencies and advises staff on issues relating to OSHA and various regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Must have at least four years experience in healthcare safety or a related field, or an Associate's degree in fire safety or related field and three years experience or a combination thereof.
*Must possess or be willing to obtain certification by the City of Columbus in high rise fire fighting methodology.
*Must posses a thorough knowledge of Ohio building codes, fire codes OSHA, Joint Commission and other hospital and industry related regulatory agencies.
*Must be skilled in all Microsoft office products including, but not limited to, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
*Must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License.
*Must be able to work evening shift and occasional weekends
