The Pastry Product Manager is a key member of the Confectionery Arts International Product Management team, helping to execute short term goals and develop long term strategies that will sustain the growth of Confectionery Arts International Product lines. The Pastry Product Manager will be responsible for:
* Contributing to the overall product management, strategic vision and focus and execution of growth plans for Confectionery Arts International product lines and private label product lines.
* Effectively manages all aspects of key projects and specific development work streams in support of the organization's goals and market needs.
* Works directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives and articulates these into detailed product requirements for laboratory and marketing departments
* Understands market trends and needs, and articulate needs in the form of new product requirements.
* Leads competitive analysis and market assessment activities and establishes deployment strategy based on the assessment of market trends, customer needs and competitive analysis.
* Plays proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace.
* Establishes strategic launch programs for new products or enhancements, including, identification of market segments, product positioning, pricing, and profitability estimates
* Acts as the product evangelist and actively participates in the rollout of new products internally and externally
* Identifies new distribution channels and coordinates product introduction and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration.
* Participates in the entire lifecycle of the product, working closely with development teams from product initiation from delivery to eventual product retirement
* Provides support for CAI Sales and Service team as product expert
Candidate should possess strong analytical, communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills along with the demonstrated ability to lead and solve complex problems
*Minimum AS or AOS degree in Business, food service, culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, or Food Science or equivalent extensive experience
* 1+ years experience in product/marketing management or product R&D development a plus
* Experience in food marketing, food management, pastry, baking and research and development a plus.
* Must have experience with defining product requirements, including discovery research, concept and validation research.
* Must have the ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed product specifications.
* Must have the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment and develop strong working relationships across the organization.
* Must have the ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision.
* Knowledge of Cake Decorating and Pastry industry a plus
* Knowledge of pastry ingredients and baking technology is desirable
* Proficiency with all popular software tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
* Proficiency in product photography or graphic design a plus
* Extensive presentation experience: customer sales presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be able to present product ideas to senior management as well as customers.
* Candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment where priorities may change
* Must be comfortable with technology and technical concepts as well as working with manufacturing and retail settings
* Ability to travel periodically
This position is open to entry level and experienced individuals

- Health Professionals Special Pay of $30,000, paid in three annual increments of $10,000
