Tire Business and Rubber & Plastics News (Crain Communication publications) seek a full-time Web Coordinator. This is a shared position between the two publications
Responsibilities:
* Work and oversee both publications' Web products, with the aim of building traffic, viewer loyalty, boosting sales, and creating "must view" sites that are user friendly and technically up-to-date. This will require knowledge of the Tire, Rubber, and Plastics industries, & understanding the consumer of the publications
* Manage all web, online, email, etc., projects and act as liaison with external vendors and internal business partners
* Research and develop appropriate micro sites, liaison with external vendors to coordinate webinars and podcasts, produce weekly News Minute video newscasts, provide usage statistics for both sites, develop video opportunities, etc
* Assist in the development of marketing campaigns and promotions
* Serve as on-air talent for video productions
* Provide strategic thinking for future direction and development of the sites
* Coordinate with the Circulation Department to address user and subscriber issues
* Work with editors and reporters to develop Web exclusive stories and features
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 2 years of previous experience managing projects for the web, including strategic planning, process development, communicating the benefits of web products to potential and existing clients
* Experience in the publishing or media fields preferred
* Knowledge or experience working in the Tire, Rubber, or Plastics industry, a plus!
* A solid understanding of web design and development tools to convey to clients, and internal partners
* Adobe design skills such as Flash, Dreamweaver, etc, preferred
* Development experience, such as HTML, Java, etc, a plus
This is a diverse position with a dynamic publishing and communications company that requires the ability to work effectively with many people and easily shift from one responsibility to another
