Are you an experienced pastry and baking ingredients Sales Person, Pastry Chef or Chocolatier? Are you tired of working in the kitchen, late nights, weekends, and holidays? * Confectionery Arts International is a leading manufacturer of gourmet pastry ingredients, chocolate, private label, dessert components, gumpaste and fondant products. Our company has an opening for a National Sales Manager calling on mid to large customers and prospecting. We are a mid size company growing rapidly with our array of new and innovative products and ingredients. The sales manager's position requires a self motivator, outgoing, confident, customer oriented, and result driven manager selling the finest products to a wide range of accounts. To be considered, you must show the following talents: * Successful history in sales or pastry (chocolate or specialty dessert items preferred) * Desire to provide the highest level of customer service by addressing customer concerns * A successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with customers * Strong merchandising skills and Category Management experience * Former/current pastry chefs or industry experience highly desired Qualifications: * 1+ years of sales experience (industry experience preferred) *Proven track record as a pastry chef/chocolatier OR sales achievements in a regional or national organizations with large/key accounts *Must be enthusiastic and a self-starter requiring little to no supervision *Must have the ability to travel (50%) for this role, as your customers will be located throughout the US *Strong presentation and relationship building skills, especially in the pastry and baking industry *Strong MS office skills *Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively, with an ability to meet or exceed deadlines *Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills * Associates or Bachelors degree in business, or foodservice area a plus Primary Responsibilities: 1.Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients. 2.Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made. 3.Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity. 4.Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned. 5.Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts. 6.Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge. 7.Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships. 8.Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services. 9.Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up. 10.Identify and resolve client concerns. 11.Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals. 12.Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff. Additional Responsibilities: 1.Participate in marketing events such as, trade shows, and special events with clients 2.May include Follow-up for collection of late payment. 3.Coordinate with other staff to ensure proper shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services We offer a competitive base salary, commission, travel allowance, and benefits package. The Pastry Product Manager is a key member of the Confectionery Arts International Product Management team, helping to execute short term goals and develop long term strategies that will sustain the growth of Confectionery Arts International Product lines. The Pastry Product Manager will be responsible for: * Contributing to the overall product management, strategic vision and focus and execution of growth plans for Confectionery Arts International product lines and private label product lines. * Effectively manages all aspects of key projects and specific development work streams in support of the organization's goals and market needs. * Works directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives and articulates these into detailed product requirements for laboratory and marketing departments * Understands market trends and needs, and articulate needs in the form of new product requirements. * Leads competitive analysis and market assessment activities and establishes deployment strategy based on the assessment of market trends, customer needs and competitive analysis. * Plays proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace. * Establishes strategic launch programs for new products or enhancements, including, identification of market segments, product positioning, pricing, and profitability estimates * Acts as the product evangelist and actively participates in the rollout of new products internally and externally * Identifies new distribution channels and coordinates product introduction and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration. * Participates in the entire lifecycle of the product, working closely with development teams from product initiation from delivery to eventual product retirement * Provides support for CAI Sales and Service team as product expert Candidate should possess strong analytical, communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills along with the demonstrated ability to lead and solve complex problems *Minimum AS or AOS degree in Business, food service, culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, or Food Science or equivalent extensive experience * 1+ years experience in product/marketing management or product R&D development a plus * Experience in food marketing, food management, pastry, baking and research and development a plus. * Must have experience with defining product requirements, including discovery research, concept and validation research. * Must have the ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed product specifications. * Must have the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment and develop strong working relationships across the organization. * Must have the ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision. * Knowledge of Cake Decorating and Pastry industry a plus * Knowledge of pastry ingredients and baking technology is desirable * Proficiency with all popular software tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) * Proficiency in product photography or graphic design a plus * Extensive presentation experience: customer sales presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must be able to present product ideas to senior management as well as customers. * Candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment where priorities may change * Must be comfortable with technology and technical concepts as well as working with manufacturing and retail settings * Ability to travel periodically This position is open to entry level and experienced individuals Benefits: Base Salary and Bonuses (health insurance, vision, vacation time, personal time, sick time) Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment. CAI has a focus on research to develop a product line for use in confectionery, bakery, deli food service, beverages, industrial and retail home use products ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Graphic designer will be responsible for understanding print process, and be proficient with all industry-standard applications, including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. The Graphic designer must also be web savvy with a strong knowledge and interest in the internet. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing both simple and sophisticated pages. The successful candidate will have a degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Information Technology, or related technical program. Candidate will assist our team in developing and implementing creative solutions and visual designs for a range of rich web applications. A designer with photography and video/presentation experience is a plus The position produces design work for a wide variety of end products, and development ranges from abstract to developed content and visual concepts. The graphic designer produces images without explicit guidelines for designs, illustrations, and layouts of graphic related materials using a variety of design and artwork software. The graphic designer is also responsible for pre-press preparation of developed products as well as light office duties. The designer will also: * Be able and willing to represent the company in the most positive manner with clients, suppliers and the community * Knowledge of graphic layout and photographic requirements and procedures. Conceptualizes, designs, and produces materials such as flyers, ads, brochures, logos, office signage, exhibits, and/or displays. * Detailed knowledge of relevant design tools: Dreamweaver, HTML/CSS, Flash/Action Script, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional. * Practical work experience in web site user interface design, including site information architecture, content organization, page flows, interaction design, and navigation schemes. * Strong knowledge of web and printing equipment (large format Printers) in terms of design requirements is necessary. Must possess general knowledge of paper stocks and other materials associated with printing * Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service attitude are required. Responsibilities require ability to evaluate project needs, and then use independent judgment to apply procedural requirements to produce products that will increase sales * Must be well organized and a self-starter, able to identify work needs and act upon them without specific directions * Must maintain a clean and well-organized work area and contribute to cleanliness and organization of entire department * Must be able to work effectively in an individual role, in direct contact or support of customers, as well as within a team role involving shared decision-making and task coordination. Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously * Thorough understanding of graphic design and computer-based design. Must have ability to effectively use a variety of software applications, perform file translations between different software applications and operating platforms, and understand basic hardware requirements, includes networking troubleshoots.
