Purpose of Role: The Mars Veterinary Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of consumer marketing and trade programming for the portfolio of Mars Veterinary products. This position plays a key role in achieving the brand's growth and profit plans. This person will be responsible for delivering both the annual and long term marketing plans. This includes the development of brand strategies and plans, including new innovation concepts, packaging, consumer communications, sales materials, and in-market programs for field sales. The successful candidate will have a broad breadth of marketing skills and experience. The candidate is a strong team player, influencer, and results-oriented individual. He / She will work closely with internal (R&D, Supply, Commercial, Sales, S&F, Corporate Affairs) and external (Advertising, Promotion, Direct) groups to develop and execute the marketing plans. Principal Accountabilities Under the direction of the General Manager: - Develop marketing plan and assume leadership of cross-functional teams and agency resources to deliver plan growth and profit objectives - Manage marketing research and consumer insights - Objectively assess marketplace and business conditions to develop and implement long-term strategic plan - Establish innovative marketing plans, including the construction of integrated brand communication programs to include trade promotion, consumer promotion, and social media / PR (in conjunction with VP Corporate Affairs) - Represent the marketing function for project execution meetings to ensure on-time and in-budget delivery of activities - Active member of management team that drives business strategy - Writes and edits communication materials, translating technical science concepts to understandable levels for audience target populations. - Develops and leverages relationships with scientists, organizations and key media personnel for the benefit of the company - Develops all sales and collaborative materials. - In conjunction with VP of Corporate Affairs, develops and executes social media strategy to include web site(s), Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. - Develops draft advertising text and layouts as part of campaign materials and presents to GM for review and approval. - Manage the communication campaigns surrounding internal associate engagement strategy - Other special projects as assigned by General Manager or President ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage and staff company booth or exhibit at trade and community events. Assistant Division: Symbioscience Department: Administrative Support Supervisor/Reports to: Miranda Hatgicosti Job Relationships: This position will interact specifically with the Administrative Manager and administrative support staff from the Rockville office, other divisions of Symbioscience and units of Mars, Incorporated Summary: The position is responsible for the following major functional activities: As the Receptionist is the first associate to make contact with visitors, service providers and clients, this position sets the tone for all interactions with the company and is an integral part of the administrative support structure of the organization. Therefore, this position requires a strong professional image and positive, "can-do" attitude. He/she should be able to multi-task while maintaining composure as well as posses the ability to communicate professionally while presenting a positive impression As the Administrative Assistant, this position requires strong attention to detail as well as the ability to efficiently manage a number of competing priorities. He/she should be highly organized as well as be able to interface professionally both internally and externally and be proactive in raising issues as they arise. Principal Accountabilities: * Perform the leading initial "point of contact" role for the office in answering and directing incoming calls, tracking associates' whereabouts, greeting guests, signing in and announcing visitors, coordinating all deliveries, incoming/outgoing/inte... mail. This also includes responsibility for opening and closing the Reception area each day as well as maintaining a professional appearance in the area at all times. Reception hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm and business attire is required * Incumbent must work with all associates to ensure that the arrival of visitors is planned and noted in a daily log before the guest arrives. This includes business associates, building maintenance and the occasional personal guest. As the first point of contact, he/she is responsible for monitoring anyone who wishes to enter the suite. Security of associates is a priority so advanced notice of visitors is required before admitting anyone to the suite. He/she should feel comfortable refusing entrance into the suite to any visitor that does not have an appointment with an associate. (This does not pertain to daily visits by mail/parcel carriers.) * This position will require him/her to assist in organizing ground transportation services, hotel reservations, dinner reservations and directional assistance to visitors whenever necessary. He/she should be able to identify local area vendors such as taxis, restaurants, health clinics, hotels, limos, etc. in order to provide this information to visitors * Manage conference room reservations as well as coordinate lunch orders as necessary * Ensure conference rooms are fully supplied with flip chart pages, markers, erasers and eraser fluid, tissues, etc * Ensure the supplies are fully stocked throughout office on a daily basis.
