CAI specializes in the manufacturing of a broad spectrum of food products for the retail, foodservice and industrial markets world-wide. This may include various medias such as web based, print, and promotional events. We are a growing company with an experienced staff and a growing client base. CAI has a focus on research to develop a product line for use in confectionery, bakery, deli food service, beverages, industrial and retail home use products
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graphic designer will be responsible for understanding print process, and be proficient with all industry-standard applications, including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. The Graphic designer must also be web savvy with a strong knowledge and interest in the internet. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing both simple and sophisticated pages. The successful candidate will have a degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Information Technology, or related technical program. Candidate will assist our team in developing and implementing creative solutions and visual designs for a range of rich web applications. A designer with photography and video/presentation experience is a plus
The position produces design work for a wide variety of end products, and development ranges from abstract to developed content and visual concepts. The graphic designer produces images without explicit guidelines for designs, illustrations, and layouts of graphic related materials using a variety of design and artwork software. The graphic designer is also responsible for pre-press preparation of developed products as well as light office duties.
The designer will also:
* Be able and willing to represent the company in the most positive manner with clients, suppliers and the community
* Knowledge of graphic layout and photographic requirements and procedures. Conceptualizes, designs, and produces materials such as flyers, ads, brochures, logos, office signage, exhibits, and/or displays.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant design tools: Dreamweaver, HTML/CSS, Flash/Action Script, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional.
* Practical work experience in web site user interface design, including site information architecture, content organization, page flows, interaction design, and navigation schemes.
* Strong knowledge of web and printing equipment (large format Printers) in terms of design requirements is necessary. Must possess general knowledge of paper stocks and other materials associated with printing
* Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service attitude are required. Responsibilities require ability to evaluate project needs, and then use independent judgment to apply procedural requirements to produce products that will increase sales
* Must be well organized and a self-starter, able to identify work needs and act upon them without specific directions
* Must maintain a clean and well-organized work area and contribute to cleanliness and organization of entire department
* Must be able to work effectively in an individual role, in direct contact or support of customers, as well as within a team role involving shared decision-making and task coordination. Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Thorough understanding of graphic design and computer-based design. Must have ability to effectively use a variety of software applications, perform file translations between different software applications and operating platforms, and understand basic hardware requirements, includes networking troubleshoots.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE IN ALL ADOBE SUITES
EXPERIENCE IN PRINT MEDIA, ADVERTISING, WEB DESIGN AND SOME PURCHASING ACTIVITIES
SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE IN FOOD, PASTRY, OR CAKE DECORATING INDUSTRY A PLUS
KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC MARKETING PRINCIPLES A PLUS
ABILITY TO WORK IN A FAST PACED, TIGHT DEADLINE ENVIRONMENT
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Associates or bachelors degree in graphic / web design or related field
