Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or graphic design; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience in community relations, public relations, marketing or advertising. Applicant must have experience in design and page layout, print preparation and production, web authoring on content management systems, email marketing, as well as demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in job trafficking/project management & writing/editing copy preferred, including demonstrated ability and experience with visual and written communications, including effective writing and an ability to distill information into concise, common language understandable by a broad audience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages production of the Town's newsletter including content development, editing, production and coordination of distribution. Duties include: * developing editorial calendars and schedules and approval deadlines * soliciting and editing content submissions, * article copywriting, , * page layout and design, * print preparation/production, * managing production schedules,, * managing the distribution process, schedule and budget. Creates and manages electronic media and communications, including electronic newsletters, email notices, web pages, web content and graphics. Manages distribution of electronic media (both push and pull). Designs and develops printed and online communications pieces for departmental programs and events. Activities include developing and modifying graphical layouts for bulletins, flyers, brochures, signage, and the web. Keeps content on Town's local government access channel (Channel 18) up-to-date by creating, designing and uploading information on Town programs, events meetings and announcements. Assists in the coordination of public information sessions and programs. Researches and summarizes information needed to support communications projects and initiatives and providing communications knowledge and resources for internal customers. Writes educational and informative copy for brochures, posters, flyers, bulletins, and other communications pieces. Assists in trafficking and project management for the External Affairs division to include centralizing customers' requirements, scheduling job steps and deadlines, tracking and managing project deadlines, and managing or administering print quote/spec processes including contracts.
