Description
Religions for Peace is the world's largest and most representative multi-religious coalition advancing common action among the religious communities for peace. Headquartered in New York and accredited to the United Nations, Religions for Peace works through more than seventy inter-religious councils and groups, networks of religious youth and women of faith, and a World Council of senior religious leaders. Religions for Peace creates effective multi-religious partnerships to transform violent conflict, eradicate poverty, promote just and harmonious societies, and protect the earth.
As part of a strategic communications plan and expansion into e-advocacy, Religions for Peace is developing the position of Constituent Relationship Manager. The Manager will work with communication, fundraising, and online advocacy colleagues to increase the size and strength of our e-mail file and the breadth of captured constituent profile information. This is done with objectives of: building a member/friend constituent base; increasing overall Web site traffic; enabling targeted marketing; increasing the overall level and frequency of electronic donations; and minimizing basic inquiries to the organization by providing online information regarding the Religions for Peace programs and mission. Specific Responsibilities: * Manage all constituent relationship data, including to: develop and track timelines, assist departments with projects and programs, and define resources required * Maintain both a Convio Common Ground and (parallel) Constituent 360 database that allows constituents to learn about our organization's mission and accomplishments, register for e-mail communications and personalized content, take action on campaigns, make donations, and get information about events * Cooperate with the Communications and Fundraising staff in the production of online content * Gather from and share with all departments information on constituents, and modify as necessary to ensure a high-level of usability and effectiveness of constituent data * Identify opportunities for new online projects that drive organizational objectives * Support the decision process within the organization for prioritizing online projects based on their impact on key metrics of online efforts * Serve as primary liaison between International Secretariat, field project offices and affiliated bodies for sharing of constituent relationship data * Work closely with project directors and management team members in developing relevant data inputs from and outputs to projects and programs. * Carry out other duties as occasionally assigned by the Secretary General or Communications Manager
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communications, Design or related field. * Three+ years' experience in database management, including integrated experience with content management tools (especially the technological wherewithal to learn and manage a Convio system) * Experience in or knowledge of marketing, communications, public relations, and/or a related field * Experience with online giving and an understanding of how online content, communications, and appeals drive fundraising results * Familiarity with Web development tools, particularly CMS, SEO, and Convio experiences appreciated. Basic HTML and Web design skills a plus * Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal skills * Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish, French, Japanese, or Arabic is preferred. * Must be a self-starter focused on outcomes and talented in web content management. * Experience using CSS, Joomla or Drupal, Content Management, PHP, HTML, Javascript, Dreamweaver or other web authoring tools, e.g., Flash is especially welcome. * Past experience in an NGO setting and international travel/living experiences a plus.
