Performs treatment plans, and implements physical therapy services for patients according to principles and practices of the profession. The physical therapist assistant is competent to provide services to patients from age 3 to adult geriatric.
Minimum Requirements:
- An A.S. degree as a physical therapy assistant from an accredited college or university and eligibility for the New York State licensure examination
- Registration by the New York State Department of Education for those eligible, prior to the implementation of the regulation requiring an A.S. degree
- Experience as a Physical Therapist prior to employment is desired, New graduates will be considered
- A valid temporary permit or license granted by the New York State Department of Education is required
