Senior QA Engineer (Consultant)

Comcast Interactive Media (CIM) is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join its team. Join a fast-paced environment and hit the ground running to help with tight deadlines. They will work closely with the product team and application developers to create and execute test plans for our web-based product. In this role they will perform functional, regression, performance and acceptance testing in both automated and manual scenarios. Specific duties will include:

Responsibilities

  • Verify quality acceptance of web-based applications across multi-platform environments
  • Apply QA principles and methodology to develop test cases and detail test scenarios and oversee their execution, tracking, and automation.
  • Perform functional and regression testing to manually and visually check site quality
  • Set up testing environments with re-usable test cases
  • Work with our software engineering department as needed to resolve problems
  • Responsible for moving code to testing, staging and production environments
  • Lead QA activities projects through the Sprint development process.
  • Participate in daily and weekly status meetings
  • Assist in on-going process improvement efforts to ensure test planning, execution and reporting is effective and efficient
  • Review and help improve product documentation
  • Work closely with QA peers and developers to resolve issues and reproduce bugs
Key Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in QA and software testing, must have web experience
  • Demonstrate abilities to lead and manage large product features from inception to production
  • Passion for testing and the ability to work independently on diverse problems
  • Ability to write, maintain, and verify test cases. Develop test matrixes, identify test data and use case requirements
  • Production deployment experience and sustaining team release experience
  • Experience in testing methodologies and theories (e.g. negative, white box, and stress testing techniques), test plan development, test case design, and test execution practices.
  • Experience in writing test applications in Java.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux, Java and web technologies including: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, and MySQL.  Cross browser knowledge and testing essential.
  • Hands on experience writing SQL queries 
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills

·         Must be available and willing to work extended hours as occasionally needed (during crunch times!) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, to meet business needs
