Buyer

Comcast Interactive Media is looking for a Buyer to be part of the merchandising team. The position reports into the General Manager of Merchandising (GMM).

Specific responsibilities include:

·         Managing sourcing for 1-2 sales a week.

·         Implement the Private Sale merchandising strategy that is tied to membership growth.

·         Working with the GMM to create sales planning strategy and objectives; achieving financial targets.

·         Initiating new relationships and maintaining existing relationships for Private Sale.

·         Implementing the Buying (or Consignment) Process:

o        Choosing the styles and quantities of pieces to be sold for each sale.

o        Negotiating buying terms with the brand (price, quantity, delivery terms, consignment preferred vs buying if possible).

·         Keeping abreast of industry trends and new product ideas by reading relevant magazines, visiting stores regularly and attending trade shows.

Requirements

·         College degree.

·         5+ years experience working in Merchandising in fashion and luxury.

·         Ability to initiate relationships with diverse domestic and international brands across product categories.

·         Self-starter, strategic thinker, ambitious in nature, good with people.

·         Interest in retail and fashion, avid reader of fashion and trade publications.

·         Strong understanding of merchandising financials and ability to manage profitability.

·         Ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions/recommendations from sales data.

·         Ability to remain flexible and willing to change strategies, as business needs dictate.
