Responsibilities:
Functional responsibilities include project management, move, add
and change work, maintenance, configuration, and performance tuning
of the PBX and related peripheral hardware. Candidate will be
responsible for troubleshooting performance issues utilizing
root-cause analysis and recommending appropriate action. Other
duties include ensuring the availability of application and
infrastructure supported as well as implementing new concepts,
techniques, and standards as required. Ensures solutions are
consistent with organizational objectives and enterprise
architecture standards. Manage all data and voice
circuits from installation, troubleshooting, and general
maintenance. Design and develop voice network disaster recovery
strategies. Excellent customer service skills are required. General IT support work
will be required from this position in addition to
Telecommunications.
Expect to spend 20% of your time on
Telecommunication related tasks
and 80% of your time on general IT desktop/server support.
Requirements:
The ideal candidates will posses 3 to 5 years of experience. The
candidate will have administrator experience with Nortel-based PBX,
Symposium ACD, and Call Pilot. They will be responsible for
proactive troubleshooting which includes daily searches of log
files for any error messages as well as corrective responses. They
will utilize fundamental knowledge of telecommunication networking.
A high level of customer service skills is needed. Ingenuity,
innovation, and a high level of motivation are a must. Strong documentation and
communication skills are required.
Experience with Unix/Linux, Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/Server,
Microsoft Office, and Visio is highly preferable. Previous administration of
Cisco networking hardware a plus. Flexibility is required in this
position, requiring on call support.
Preferred qualifications include: Edify IVR and Genesys CTI
support, Nortel (or equivalent) certifications on the Option 11
– 81 line of PBX’s, Call Pilot, and Symposium
