Job responsibilities include:
- Apply technical skills to optimize plant operations,
improve plant performance and reduce operating costs while meeting
EHSS commitments and plant production targets.
- This position will also serve as a coach to develop other
technical resources and plant operating personnel. Responsibility
specify the most important activities an incumbent would be
expected to perform.
- Backup Process Coordinator in monitoring daily operations,
production rates and product quality.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Participate in PHA’s, PSSR’s, and lead incident
investigations and unit troubleshooting.
- Lead troubleshooting/process improvement teams.
- Lead the effort to implement process optimization
measures.
- Assist in the development/implementation of procedures as
required.
- Assist in the coaching of operation personnel in techniques to
enhance day to day operations.
- Identify and evaluate EHSS risks.
- Actively participate in the Reliability Operations Team for the
PIB plants.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
teams.
- Complete project scopes to hand off to capital for estimating
as required.
- Initiate AFE’s (capital and expense) and lead
followthrough on driving that AFE to completion.
- Assist in achieving EHSS commitments.
- Support the execution of the daily production plan.
- Monitor daily operations, production rates and product quality
to be able to properly support operations teams.
- Idenification and implementation of improvement
opportunities.
- Support the effort in developing unit knowledge of the process
within the operating personnel. Authority specify the resources or
key decisions that the incumbent would control.
- Indirect authority for operator training on a daily basis in
the form of teaching process principles and troubleshooting
efforts.
- Lead the mentoring effort within the unit.
- Development of process improvement strategies.

Experience Required:
- 2+ years engineering experience within
a petrochemical/chemical plant or refinery
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or
equivalent
