Job Description:
This position will be responsible for oversight of the
facility's rotating and fixed equipment mechanical integrity
programs with duties including the following:
- Leads failure analysis (RCI) and shares leanings with
appropriate plant personnel.
- Responsible for driving improvements in the top 20 threats to
production within their responsibility.
- Tracks equipment failures and implements changes as
needed.
- Responsible for Preventative Maintenance (PM) development and
ownership.
- Responsible for coordinating and reporting pressure vessel,
storage tank, process piping, power boilers, loading dock,
pipeline, refractory brick & related materials’
inspections to meet Mechanical Integrity (MI) and other regulatory
requirements.
- Reviews and audits MI programs.
- Performs technical advisory role on mechanical equipment
operational, engineering, and repair issues and defines mechanical
repair work scopes and supervises repairs as needed, ensuring
quality check points.
- Maintains Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR) data on
equipment.
- Reviews new equipment technologies and how they may be applied,
ensure that technology is applied uniformly throughout the
facility.
- Reviews equipment standards for understanding and
implementation.
- Implements Maintenance strategies (Run to failure, Condition
Based Monitoring, etc).
- Creates work plans for condition monitoring system.
- Interfaces with Procurement to identify inventoried parts and
source new parts when needed.
- Analyzes vibration and Lubrication data. Creates work requests
for inspection that are not Preventive Maintenance (PM).
- Responsible for maintaining current status on State boiler
operating permits.
- Updates and manages information via existing Equipment (asset)
databases.
- Provides equipment reliability input to capital projects.
Required Skills:
- Communication skills both written and verbal are essential
- Computer skills related to Microsoft Office Products and
knowledge of computer managed maintenance systems (Oracle, SAP or
other)
- Organizational skills to be able to multi-task various
projects
- Field equipment troubleshooting skills
Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years’ work experience within the petrochemical or
refinery process industry as an equipment engineer or in an
equipment reliability role.
- Desired (but not required) to have mechanical integrity
inspection certification (API-510,570 or 653). Candidate must be
willing to obtain these certifications as part of job
expectations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, maintenance
manuals, equipment design standards, etc.. is required.
- Experience in design, procurement, installation and maintenance
of rotating and fixed equipment assets.
- Thorough working knowledge of applicable codes and standards is
required, e.g., API, ANSI, etc., (to be considered in function
rating).
