We are currently recruiting for a Facility Security
Officer (FSO) which will be based at our Corporate
headquarters in Austin, TX. The FSO will be responsible for
planning, directing, and coordinating the functions of the Security
Department of a FOCI organization for compliance with the National
Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and the
NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 and International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR). This is a manager-level position involved in
treating a variety of conventional problems, questions, or
situations in conformance with established criteria.
MUST BE A US CITIZEN WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A US
SECURITY CLEARANCE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administers the Companys security programs and
functions
• Educates company staff on the security requirements of
NISPOM and COMSEC
• Educates staff on the Company's Special Security Agreement
(SSA) and Technology Control Plan (TCP)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Requires an Associates degree or trade school or
certification program completion (Bachelors degree preferred)
• Requires 5-8 years of related industrial security
experience
CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
• Specialized knowledge of governmental security agreements
and procedures
• Thorough knowledge of computer software, hardware, and
operating systems with emphasis on concepts of Chapter 8 of the
NISPOM and experience with FOCI organizations
• Ability to recognize moderately complex problems and take
responsibility for resolving them
• Skilled in maintaining positive relations and maintaining
cooperation with others, both inside and outside the
organization
• Skilled in maintaining a high degree of tact and judgment in
interactions with others
• Skilled in assigning and monitoring the work of others
• Skilled in investigating and analyzing activities and
information and indicating logical conclusions and
recommendations
• Skilled in the use of various software programs, including
JPAS, Word, and Excel
• Familiar with SIMS Software
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must have U.S. Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain
one
• Essentials of Industrial Security Management
• COMSEC Custodian Training
• Automated Information Systems Training (Chapter 8
NISPOM)
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Frequently required to sit, use manual dexterity, speak,
listen, hear, speak, and write
• Works in an office environment with brief periods of
moderate physical effort
• Works on a computer, requiring the ability to view a monitor
for long periods of time
• Some travel is required
