What advice do you have for someone looking for their first job out of college?
Unless you have a defined career path, which would then naturally define the type of company you want to work for, look at the good skills you have and what you enjoy doing. You also need to be flexible as it unlikley you are going to get it right first time. Work with someone who understands what skills companies are looking to hire at grad level (not necessarily a recruiter either!), and then see which areas of industry best match your key skills. Once you have got your initial pool of companies to look at, start to examine what training and development they offer new recruits, and whether there is a genuine career path at that company. Start to rank the companies that interest you the most and start with them. And remember it always helps to know where to direct your intial application, so make sure you do your homework and identify that all important first point of contact....
