If you could choose, what city would you most like to live/work in? Why?

I'd like to live and work in one of two places: Kansas City or New York. I have always felt a strong pull towards the city of New York, and feel the city would be a good fit for me and my lifestyle; however, Kansas City is where I grew up, and thus is where the majority of my friends and family reside.
