What was your most memorable summer job?

It was farm hand, My first taste of business. I put up hay and made sure the barns were left in good shape,I just didn,t throw it in. In no time I had farms waiting to cut hay to make sure I was free to put it up. The jobs back then payed $1.50 hr, I started getting offers For $2.00 to @.2.50 hr to put their hay first in line. I round up 20 kids told them I would pay $ 2.00 hr which was top pay for hay hands, but when then were in a barn and it was a mess they were to clean it up move the old to were it would go out first and to leave the barn in good shape. Farmers love this ,I told them all the price was $ 2.50 a hand and to cut when ever they were ready and I woud hae people their. I made $1500 my first summer and I was 12 years old and hardly lift a bale. I learn that quality counts, rotate your stock and reputation can make you or break you.... read more
