How would you describe your time at Legend Safety?

Performed extensive research on compliance in Commercial Real Estate. Client required knowledge of NYC, NYS, NYDEC, NYDEP, EPA, OSHA, FDNY, DOH etc. regulations that would impact commercial property.
Provided EHS regulatory and health and safety information. Detailed safety auditing checklists
necessary for compliance of commercial real estate site / compliance overview were supplied. Imparted knowledge of regulatory enforcement and violations. Introduced information regarding the safeguarding of building occupants.
NYS site safety compliance. Federal site safety regulatory training requirements
The federal OSHA act applicable regulations and standards were given. A regulatory analysis was completed

How would you describe your time at Triangle Health & Safety / ...?

Worked as a subcontractor and performed Perimeter Air Monitoring (PAM) on major 1.3 million dollar project for Tri-Venture (construction contractor consortium) to build NJ Transit link in the Meadowlands. Followed PAM procedure set forth in HASP plan to monitor area outside of the exclusion zone daily.
Digging locale, transit bridge construction, and activity in the exclusion zone served as potential hazards for exposure to Mercury vapors, various VOC???s and Particulate Dust.
Command station was set up, perimeter boxes were coded, provided with transmitters and direct reading instruments. The MiniRae PID, Jerome Mercury Vapor Analyzer and Dust Trak were utilized with corresponding data logging software used for analysis.
Perimeter monitor data was downloaded and stored. Daily report provided as to field conditions, alarms, wind direction, placement of monitors etc.
Provided final report as per request. Provided continuous technical support and troubleshooting for equipment and trained new personnel accordingly.

How would you describe your time at Hunter School of Health Sci...?

In June 2004, I furthered my education and I graduated from The Hunter School of Continuing Education with a Certificate in Bioterrorism Preparedness for Laboratory and Safety Professionals. I studied Microbiology, Procedures in Safety Management, Procedures in Safety Management Laboratory, The Biology of Microbial Weapons and Government and Public Health Policy and Regulations. The program is specifically designed for laboratory professionals. I was prepared to prepare for, recognize, evaluate, and recover from a potential or actual Bioterrorist attack. The Toxicological, Biological, Chemical, and Physical characteristics of potential Bioterrorism agents and CDC Select agents were elucidated. In addition, sampling methodologies, risk assessment, public health outcomes both acute and chronic were focused upon. How Bioterrorism agents are potentially weaponized, along with the public health and governmental policies that deal with the potential threat and outcomes were discussed in detail. In order to advance my career further, I have taken review courses and I am currently pursuing the distinctions of Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).... read more

I enjoy working in the environmental profession. I matriculated at Hunter College School of Health Sciences - Brookdale Health Science Center. I enrolled in the MS Program in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences and completed the program in June 2002. The program is a component of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH NY/NJ) Educational Resource Center. The EOHS Program emphasized industrial hygiene, investigation, evaluation and control of hazards in the workplace, and environmental health and safety. I focused my studies on industrial toxicology. I worked in conjunction with the Neurotoxicology Laboratory of the Mt. Sinai Medical Center researching the effect of neurotoxins, particularly as they relate to the blood-brain barrier (BBB). I performed data analysis for the preparation of my thesis analyzing the olfactory pathway as a possible mechanism of entry for lead (Pb) to access the brain. I presented an abstract and poster, The Olfactory System and the Blood Brain Barrier: Comparison of Oral and Nasal Routes of Exposure to Lead (Pb) in the Rat, at the Society of Toxicology 35th Annual Meeting in March of 1996. As a neuropsychological research student investigated rat brain sites that could facilitate locomotion activity evoked from hypothalamic stimulation. Skills learned included: histology, stereotaxic surgery (chronic, sterile), use of electrical/drug stimulation (GABA, picrotoxin, glutamate), proper research and writing skills. Performed experiments on locomotion sites in the rat brain. Wrote four research papers entitled:
