How would you describe your dream job in 10 words or less?

I can do a lot of different types of jobs that I would find appealing. These would include past jobs, such as my clerical work at Chartwell and Patient Business Services of UPMC. I currently work part-time as a co-instructor for Youth Advocate Programs which could lead to more frequent presentation and public speaking opportunities if I choose. I would enjoy doing title searches for mortgage companies, work for pharmacies (such as a fill technician), and various jobs for airlines, such as a ticket agent. The work environment is very important to me and I want an environment that would allow me to learn, grow, and advance. If I were to have the opportunity for any one or more of the following: teamwork, serving others in some capacity, the opportunity for creative work, and helping people understand things in a way they didn't before, I would be fulfilled.... read more

I gained hands-on experience in diagnostic scanning, and educated patients in the scanning process. I was responsible for preparing the rooms prior to examination, and assisted with locating biopsies to prepare for scanning.

I did clerical support work, for account representatives in medical billing offices, including EVS searches, searching for remittances, preparing materials for Medical Assistance integrity audits, other support work on Medipac, editing electronic claims using Premis, logging Signed Medical Necessity forms into another UPMC database, transferring balances between insurances. I took on Account Representative duties for a nine-month period in 2002 where I investigated and resolved a broad range of insurance denials, worked with insurance companies to resolve payment denials, and determined when account should be paid or written off.... read more

Gained an associates' degree in specialized technology in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound Tech is the vernacular). I did my clinical rotation mostly at UPMC-Presbyterian, a teaching hospital. In July of 2006 passed the final exam to be a Registered DMS.
