The questions was, "How do you manage conflict in a complex, cross-functional environment with competing goals and priorities?"

I replied that I do not have a formula response, but I would (1) gain an understanding of the conflict and what competing stakes and objectives were in play; (2)
Identify points of agreement and disagreement; (3) See what was doable; (4) escalate if the differences were irreconcilable: That is, does management want this project to go forward, and how can I help ensure that it will?... read more
