Developed, pitched and won new business. Supervised difficult, marginally-profitable account, increased annual revenue by 100% on that account. Led development of educational multi-media campaign for Homebuilders Association to inform public of reasons why this difficult time in homebuilding was a good time to buy. Recruited to opened first branch office of $150mm agency from Dallas (Larkin, Meeder & Schweidel) to supervise Wet ???n Wild account. Agency was acquired by MARC USA, a$600mm agency, five years later.
Hired and managed staff, including creative, account management, production, administrative
and media. Managed personnel, P/L, business development, client relations, strategic planning.
- Grew billing from $1 million at start-up of office to over $12 million in five years.
- Pitched and won accounts including manufacturers, financial services companies, savings & loan associations, regional YMCA, and one of the largest convention and visitors??? bureaus in the US.
- Negotiated with Walt Disney Marketing to allow usage of Mickey Mouse ears/mailboxes in a branding campaign that positioned the Kissimmee-St. Cloud, Florida Convention & Visitors Bureau as ???Right Next Door to Walt Disney World???, increasing brand awareness by 30%.
- Supervised development of campaign for amateur/professional bass fishing event that drew over 15,000 people to weekend event, and from 300 1st year participants to over 2,000 in second year. Agency developed boat, truck and other materials for client-sponsored professional fisherman, who went on the road as representative for the brand.
- Supervised development of membership campaign for Central Florida YMCA that not only exceeded membership goal by 50%, but also generated local press and ???buzz??? about the YMCA that carried over for months beyond the campaign. Campaign went on to win Best of Show in Local ADDYs, District ADDYs and Gold at the National ADDYs.
- Served as Chairman of the Board, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and North Florida.
