How would you describe your time at Walmart?
I started as an overnight receiving associate, stocking grocery freight, performing customer service, and running the power equipment (forklift, stacker, power jack). Then I became a Department Manager for Impulse Merchandise, ,where I learned how to manage inventory, manage prices, and excel at customer service. Then I went back to overnights because it paid a little more....

How would you describe your time at Athens-Meigs Educational Se...?
I was a substitute teacher in Athens and Meigs counties, Ohio. I taught grades K-12. It was a very challenging experience, ,one that can be very lonely because of the nature of the job. But it can be very rewarding. I just didn't get enough calls into work to make it a full-time job.

How would you describe your time at Data Entry Processing Services?
Initially hired for data entry, I became a supervisor within four weeks of the Nelsonville, Ohio branch. I was charged with expanding the branch from around 20 workers to 30+. I managed associate productivity, performed payroll and the whole spectrum of hr responsibilities. For the most part I enjoyed it immensely, but the company fell on hard times and I left after conflicting policy directives put me in an unfair and undesirable position....

As part of my graduate school requirement I was a GTA teaching 2 classes/semester of Freshmen English to college students. I enjoyed this job very much, but left the job because I left graduate school.

How would you describe your time at The Post?
Was a student reporter for The Post, the daily independent newspaper at Ohio University. I wrote features for the Hocking College edition on Thursdays. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would- I thrived a little on the deadline-driven environment.

Received a full stipend and an assistantship to WVU in the summer of 1999. I had to leave due to personal and financial problems at the time.
