Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

I would have to say there are 2 people who share the top spot for making me who I am today. Both are very important to me in different ways.

First is my wife Kelly Nielsen. I have always shown a bit of confidence almost to the point of being cocky. That was mostly a cover for the fact I
never really believed I was good enough. Kelly showed me I could do those things I never really believed I could. She believes in me and I get my confidence and energy from her. Kelly's faith in me and her belief in me took me to great places and I know because of her I am destined to do great things again.

Second, Michelle Groves At US Cellular. Before I began to work with Michelle I was a typical dictator type manager. She introduced me to the art of treating employees like people. I learned more from her in the time I worked for her than any other leader I have been associated with since. She personally invested in me as a person and as an employee and I learned from her that people will never care how much you know until they know how much you care. She is the Dynamic organization and her team would take a bullet for her. She is truly one of the greatest coaches of all time.

I had the opportunity to learn some great techniques in developing people from Keith. He is very focused on the business aspect while understanding and caring about the person within. Keith has the ability to light up a room when he enters becauase of his outgoing personality. Keith takes the time to get to know the strenghts and opportunities of each individual then utilizes the strengths adding them into his own presentations as well as effectively coaches them on their areas of growth.

Once you meet Keith, you'll be happy to have had the experience. Keith is one of those individuals that will both inpire and motive you and those around you. He will offer new and fresh ideas to help your business grow. I've had the chance to work with Keith at a couple of different offices now, and I am a better person, having had the opportunity to learn from him. Please contact me if you'd like additional or more specific information. Thanks, Randall.
