During a downswing in the IT market, I started an independent consulting firm building on my experiences as a Web training Developer and Product Developer at a startup Information Security Services firm. It was an excellent experience that taught me a great deal about project management. I also developed a reputation for standards-based design, became an evangelist for CSS (table-less) design, and worked with specialty clients who needs sites that were compatible with a variety of OS/browser combinations.... read more

Working at this startup was demanding and challenging, but it honed my love for fast-paced, deadline driven environments. The company cultivated energy and enthusiasm and welcomed ideas. If you had a plan for business development, you could pitch your idea and, if the principles gave it a go, you could build a product from the ground up.

In addition to creating online training products, I was introduced to the world of information security, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and privacy protection during the crucial post-9/11 years.
