Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

My seventh grade science teacher, Mr. Fisher. He approached teaching not just as a job but as a place to connect with people. Interjecting funny stories of his urban life (jumping around to stomp on cockroaches) with the curriculum, this Afro-American mentor sparked my interest in science that led me from Space Camp that year to an American Chemical Society award in high school to a Bachelor's of Science at the University of Michigan.
