What was your first job?

My first job was doing quality assurance and answering phones at a home health care agency. The vast majority of our patients were elderly, so the job required an enormous amount of patience and sensitivity, as well as the attention to detail and confidentiality expected in any health care setting. It was a lot of responsibility for a high school job, and while there were days I wished I could be doing something simple like bagging groceries, in retrospect I'm glad I experienced that level of expectation being put on me, so that I could rise to meet it.... read more
