How would you describe your time at Kutztown University Housing...?

Working with the housing and residence life office at Kutztown University was more than an on-campus job. It was the opportunity to work with a diverse group of student leaders who all had creative ideas and energy to bring to the residence life community. I learned a lot group cohesiveness working with the housing office. There was always about 30-35 members on my staff at a time each with individual personalities, busy schedules, and creative program ideas. I learned how to be a leader and I also learned how to work well with others in a professional atmosphere.

Working with housing allowed to work with community assistants to provide programs on campus for residents. This was the most fulfilling aspect working with housing because I realized that event planning and programming is my passion, especially when dealing with people. I dont think I would have had the opportunity to assist in planning programs and workshops had it not been for the housing office at Kutztown. I believe they gave me the foundation and the tools I need to succeed in my chosen field.

How would you describe your time at kutztown university?

My time at Kutztown University was enriching. During my 4 years at the university I was challeneged culturally and socially. Kutztown has nourished leadership skills in myself that I never knew I had. Being active in many different organizations allowed me to apply my leadership skills as well as branch out in different areas to practice new things. Kutztown University is a school that encourages the development of young student leaders, and through campus-wide activities and workshops I feel I had the support from faculty, staff, and administrators. Whether it was an on-campus event that promoted racism awareness or an event that was against violence on college campuses, the peace of mind was knowing that the President of our university was always a phone call away and always made himself available to students.

The faculty and staff within my academic field encouraged me to use all creative aspects of communication to become an effective communicator. My professors encouraged my creativity and the energy that I brung to the field. Knowing that there was always an on-campus student organization that fit every interest that I had made it a more hands-on college experience.
