I would say that my work at QIP was closer to a freelance position rather than a regular staff position. During my time at QIP, I watched educational films and newsreel, then wrote synopses describing the footage. As time progressed, I moved into an editorial position, which included proofreading hundreds of film synopses....

How would you describe your time at Lafayette Urban Ministry?
While at LUM, I wrote and edited grants and proposals. One proposal, which I wrote for a class, snagged $1,100 of the $1,500 allocated for service learning proposals. A solicitation letter I coauthored, the organization's primary fundraiser, brought more than $30,000 during my internship and will create enough funds to sustain operations for the entire year. I also developed a tri-fold display board to use at community events and fundraisers....

How would you describe your time at Streetwize Communications?
This was my most unusual work experience, but helped in developing my interpersonal most of all. Streetwize Communications creates comics, games, and pamphlets that confront social issues primarily in the Aboriginal community. While at Streetwize, I organized a national training day for social workers concerning comorbidity. I also proofread comics, handbooks, games, and feedback reports in various stages of development....
