This is a 3 year funded post with an independent advocacy service. I offer independent advocacy to parents whose children are engaged in the child protection system. I work directly with parents, advise them on the child protection process and their rights and I provide advocacy within child protection meetings, childrens hearings and social work case conferences....

Employed by the education department to support families whose children had attendance problems and behavioural problems in school. A challenging and often frustrating post as the education departments lack of flexibility meant that support options which would benefit families were often unavailable....

How would you describe your time at West calder High School?
I managed the pupil support team which was made up of 3 pupil support assistants and 7 learning support assistants within a mainstream secondary school. I worked alongside the educational psychologist to prepare support plans for children in school to improve their educational experiences.

How would you describe your time at The Go Project?
This was a project which was funded to provide support and advice to young care leavers aged 15 - 25 until the statutary throughcare and aftercare team was introduced in the Perth & Kinross area and at that point funding was no longer continued.

I offered keywork support to young people leaving care in order to increase their employability. This was a pilot scheme in the social work department and funding was not continued.

How would you describe your time at Highwayman youth and commun...?
Part-time for 2 years whilst at university then completed 1 year full-time as a youth worker before moving to a new area. This was planning for, facilitating and evaluating youth work projects and activities in a low income area of Dundee.
