What makes you a great coworker?

I am always willing to lend a hand when I am able. I don't mind helping others out. I don't call in so that others will have to cover me, but I have no problem covering shifts for others.

How would you describe your time at East Coast Medical?

This was my required externship for the medical assisting program. East Coast Medical is a small family practice that was fairly new when I was there. I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the medical assisting profession while I was there, and I got to put my education to practical use. I checked patients in and out in the front office. I took vital signs and did charting to prep patients to see the physician. I was responsible for administering injections and intravenous antibiotics. I did some venipuncture and lab work including urinalysis, rapid strep tests, and pregnancy tests. I had to keep the exam rooms, labratory, and patient waiting room clean. I set up patient referrals. I filed patient charts. I also put together an MSDS book for the office. This externship was a very valuable learning experience for me, and I enjoyed it very much.... read more

My time at this company, while short, was a good experience. I really enjoyed being back into retail for a short time and seeing different people every day. I really enjoy customer service. If I hadn't moved out of state, I would have stayed longer.

My time at this company was WONDERFUL! This is where my interest in the medical field was born... I learned so much in this position. My time at this school has been very rewarding. It has really made me concentrate more not only on my studies, but on my future, and on my time management skills as it is not as disciplined. I have really learned a lot about being a part of a team through my multiple team projects. A lot of the focus in my classes has been on management, and I am learning a lot more about the administrative side of the health care field.... read more
