Pro bono work to help with the operational excellence of the staff, volunteers and donors to the organization. Designing new back office support systems, consolidating organizational data, and new web sites will use the data in ways that will enhance internal and external communications, planning, and self help to core groups. How would you describe your time at Nantucket?

Nantucket developed and marketed "Clipper," an application development tool most closely identified as a dBase compiler. When I joined the company, annual revenues were about $10, and when the company was purchased by Computer Associates in June, 1992, those had rised to over $40. Nantucket had established overseas operations in seven countries, including Russia, and the customer base grew from about 35,000 to over 300,000 registered users from 1989 to 1992. Co-founded Origin to develop PC-based software for community and larger banks, focusing primarily on loan origination and document preparation software. Over 2500 products were sold in banks across the country. Duties were primarily operations, sales and marketing, and product design/architecture.

I worked as a consultant for a handful of firms, including two of my own from the early 1960s through the beginning of 1980. I was both a heavy tech developer on mainframe systems, developing large enterprise-level business applications in banking, finance, insurance, warehouse distribution, wholesale grocery, public utility, and for three years at the United Nations Developement Programme.
