How would you describe your time at Ernst & Young International?

This was my first job and a tremendous initiation into the world of business. Although I was hired as on-site assistant to a senior consultant, due to shortage of resources I was thrust into the role of senior consultant from the first day. I was asked not only to learn the business of my client (on my own) but was required to learn how to implement Oracle Applications 11i Human Resource Management and Sales Order Management "as soon as possible"! My innocence served me well! I learned the business, handled the demands of client-side management, implemented the systems and trained teams of users without any external help/training. It was a long, frustrating project and despite the organizational shortcomings on our part, in hindsight, that experience put me on the path to becoming the leader I am today.... read more

How would you describe your time at University of Waterloo?

My time at UW was the most enriching experience of my life. As an international student from Pakistan now studying in Canada, I learned to adapt to new systems, new cultures and new people. I took the opportunity to re-assess my goals and ambitions and to figure out who I wanted to be. In this crowd of talented individuals, I also saw the potentials of what I could choose be. I realized my weaknesses and appreciated my strengths and made a determined effort to live my dream and to value myself as the sum of the value I add to those around me.
