What was your first job?
I worked at the Sisters of St. Francis Convent in North Dakota. I would work after school and on the weekends as a Personal Care Aid to the elderly nuns. At first, I could not stand the position, but as time went on and parents talked me into staying, I was able to connect with so many people that were great mentors in my life giving me so much knowledge of their past experiences....

How would you describe your time at Watson Custom Home Builders?
In this role, I receive all contracts, change orders and binders, enter the information into the computer, post necessary documents onto the website and start the process of the new home. After receiving all required information, I order site plans, truss and foundation engineering and plans. Once everything has been receive, I submit all documentation to the county for approval. After the permit has been approved, I release the package to the field in order to start the home. On the development side, I have worked with the counties to alleviate such problems as rezoning, lot fits, and sign issues. Working with the county commissioner to resolve rezoning issues, or adding lots to the PUD. With Southern Atlantic Builders, a subsidiary of Watson Custom Home Builders, I would permit all condominium, entry features, pools and cabanas for communities. As a closing coordinator, I prepared the home for closing, such as ordering water/electric meters, making sure all inspections are completed, and working with the attorney and banks to assure the customer was ready for closing....

My experience with Lennar Homes was incredible. I had a great family of coworkers that really helped one another when in need. I was in charge of permitting handling all plans, energy calcs, working with the cities and the counties to approve the appropriat plans in order to start building the house....

How would you describe your time at KB Home?
With KB Home, we were another great team. Great leaders came out of KB Home to start there own business. Everyone who worked there seemed to develop more skills by being able to easily transfer to another department and cross train. I believe that cross training employees is beneficial to any company in order to maintain accuracy and integrity....
