My time with Weight Watchers has taught me customer service skills, good listening skills, and money-handling skills. I have had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life who share with me the desire for self-improvement and health. My time with Hallmark was filled with challenges and opportunities to learn. I had a certain degree of independence. I was able to multi-task in a busy environment and take the initiative as I saw fit.

How would you describe your time at Department of Defense Schoo...?
Substitute teaching for grades k - 6 in an overseas setting was a wonderful experience. On what was often very short notice, I absorbed the regular classroom teacher's lesson plan and implement it. The students were everything a teacher could ask for and yet not without challenging behaviors. I had the opportunity to be a part of the inner workings of the school with the added edge that I was publicity chairperson for both the PTSA as well as the Scholarship Committee. I will never forget my years teaching....

How would you describe your time at Hawaii Loa College?
Born and raised in Michigan, my move to and education in Hawaii was a lesson in diversity! I attended classes with students from all over the world and was able to have new experiences like rock climbing and scuba diving. Classes were small and therefore, every student had the benefit of and the scrutiny of their professors. No other college would have given me the same education. Nowadays, Hawaii Loa has been taken over by Hawaii Pacific University....
