Major responsibility pertains to Setting up the Test bed with lab set up which involved configuring the Netgear Firewall and KVM switches.
Writing shell scripts , Perl scripts and modifying Perl scripts as and when required.
Network Maintenance throughout the lab under UNIX platform (FEDORA CORE 6.0, RHEL 4.0, SOLARIS 9.0 / 10.0) and as well as WINDOWS platform.
Executing Perl automated test suites.
Data protection and restore with Backup Apps (VERITAS Backup Exec 9.1 / 10.0, VERITAS NetBackup 5.1 / 6.0, Computer Associates (CA) ARCserve Backup 11.1 / 11.5,SQL Server 2000).
Reporting bugs and verifying those....

Chief responsibility pertains to System Administration and Network Maintenance throughout the campus under UNIX platform (FEDORA CORE 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.0, RHEL 3.0 / 4.0 , SOLARIS 9.0 / 10.0).
Handling maintenance for Internal LAN that is connected to the Internet through Fibre Optics and connected to SIT and other TIG Resource Centres.
Also managing internal development of Campus Applications through necessary software.
Modifying systems to suit staff and students by changing the script of Proxy Server and Firewall according to the situation and also maintaining secure server from outside the campus through firewall.
