In addition I got opportunity to train about 56 engineers in embedded hardware and software skills in 4 years....

An Eye Opener!
I was there only for about 4 months but I got to learn a lot about how the energymeter manufacturing industry works - how they meet the Govt regulations and how a low-cost high volume product is made and sold and supported.
About 54 engineers were reporting to me and the company was turning around in improving its products.
My contribution was small but significant. I tried to bring a mindset in R & D Engineers that the rest of the company is their internal customer and they must delight their customer....

I was owner of this company and employed 6 engineers. We completed 5 different product design contracts in 3 years :
1. Blood Chemistry Analyzer
2. Power Measurement & remote metering of Telephone exchange facility.
3. Fire Alarm panel as per EN54 standard
4. Data Acquisition Systems for Energy meters and yarn producing Machines
5. ECG signal storage Unit (Holter Monitor)
6 Intelligent controller to provide "SPOT" during weightlifting....

Very Soul satisfying!
I was teaching undergrad and graduate students in a reputed engineering college of Central India. This was the time when the computer education was spreading in the country and there was acute need of experienced and mature teachers.
I taught digital design, microprocessor-based design, computer architecture, parallel processing.
We did lots of research and published papers in memory-coupled multi-microprocessors....

I started my career here and learnt ropes of being a good engineer.
I worked first as a Post Graduate Trainee (76-77) then as a Design Engineer (77-78) then as a Project Leader (78-80) and then as a group Leader handling multiple projects (80-81).
I published about 10 design ideas in US magazines in 3 years....
