What path did you take to your current career?

Initially worked for Pacific Bell in voluntary deductions, employee records, and payroll posting. Based on that experience, was hired by Ran-Rob, Inc. (see employment history).

When Mother's Cookies was sold and the corporate office moved to Illinois, my position was eliminated. After 20
plus years in Human Resources, I made the decision to pursue employment in a field related to my hobby--cars. I sought out an auto broker and partnered with him to develop his business. I began this in October of 2002 and remained with Cars Buy Phone until April 2004. While with Cars Buy Phone, I increased credit union participation from one to over twenty orgianizations. I developed all marketing collateral, wrote proposals, coordinated the printing and delivery of materials, made cold calls to organizations as well as in-person presentations. After getting my sales license, I brokered vehicles to customers, locating desired vehicles, negotiating prices, arranging transportation and delivery of vehicles to customers' homes or offices, and resolving any post delivery issues.

I left Cars Buy Phone for an opportunity at E-Loan. As a Loan Consultant, in a call center environment, I sold customers on any one of many home equity loan options. Once sold, ensured all underwriting conditions were met, resolved complex credit, lien, insurance, legal and other issues. Ensured the delivery of excellent customer service throughout the entire loan process and ensured the loan closed and the customer was pleased with the process.

With the downturn in the mortgage industry, I was laid off with approximately 600 other employees in March of 2007. Due to a serious mistake made by a doctore on an elective procedure, I was unable to work the balance of 2007. During that time I decided to return to the Human Resources field. Once the medical issue was resolved, I began my job search in early 2008. After this brief respite from employment in HR, I am looking to re-enter the field in a support or administrative capacity.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak with any employer who believes they have a position that matches my skills. My desire is to work in the San Leandro, Hayward, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon or adjacent locations. I will, however, consider other locations for the right opportunity....
