How would you describe your time at McKinnon's Butchery Shop?
I have learned how to deal with a wide range of difficult people. I take pride in excellence from customer service to food presentation and visual displays. I enjoy building and maintaining displays within the cases. Hands down, I have the best coworkers that make the work environment upbeat and enjoyable. It's important to have a good sense of teamwork and support, especially in the food service field, because without it, the job would be monotonous and overly stressful. It's also important to have a sense of humor and the ability to shrug off things you have no control over....

How would you describe your time at Stop & Shop?
This job gave me the basic skills for my current job at McKinnon's. I gained more customer service skills, and a familiarity with the equipment and visual displays. This job was more stressful for me mainly because it included a lot more responsibilities for minimal wages and benefits. Not only did it include responsibilities from the deli, but also from the prep food and seafood departments. I learned the abiltiies to multi-task, train fellow coworkers, maintain slicers, maintain oven and equipment, spit and cook rotisserie chickens, prepare sandwiches, orgainze and maintan deli and salad cases, and how to help seafood department customers....

How would you describe your time at the avenue?
This company specializes in clothing for full-figured women and I had worked at the location in the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, MA. I had started out as a sales associate and had worked up to become an assistant manager in about 4 or 5 months. I had gained a lot of leadership and retail experience and enjoyed creating visual displays. Unfortunately, the company had decided to close all the mall locations and only keep the plaza locations. I had helped with the liquidation of the store in January, and chose not to transfer to the nearest plaza store because the commute would have been too much and I was still a student at the time....

How would you describe your time at Salem State College?
I would describe my college experience as joyfully challenging. I enjoy learning about new experiences and different cultures. Art is about being able to not only express yourself, but interpreting different visual languages of not only the masters, mentors, and professors, but of your peers and the different cultures of the world. The most challenging part of the program is being able to stand confidently on your own, shaping yourself as an artist. Although computers are the main part of the graphic design field, talent and mastery of artistic skill are going to make the true difference....
