How would you describe your time at Fantasy Flight Games?

The basic concept of what I do for Fantasy Flight Games is this: I take the product from our developers and graphic designers, and figure out how to make it into a physical product. I manage the production of over 40 product lines including international coprintings with partners from around the world. These products are mostly European style boardgames, with both printed and plastic components, but we also produce books, collectable card games, and pre-painted collectable miniatures games. Most of my time is spent scheduling and interfacing with the factories in China, and negotiating pricing to keep the projects within budget, and making sure the quality of the end product is up to our companies standards.... read more

How would you describe your time at Mesabi Range Community and ...?

Although MRCTC is just a community college, for the area I was living in it was one of the best schools for becoming educated in the printing and design industry. The schooling was broken up into two stages: the first year was spent completely in the press room and conventional plating room, where we learned the science and mechanics behind how printing works, and how to properly run the machinery and to solve issues that may arise during production. The second year was spent all in the graphic design room, where we learned the industry software, design concepts, and how to properly translate digital files into a physical product on press. By the end of my schooling, I was taking on more advanced projects to further my skills, and by the time I graduated I was in the top 5% of my class. I was immediately hired out as a prepress technician at a medium sized book printer.... read more
