What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?
You have to set goals and have a specific marketing and presentation plan. Have a follow up plan and implement it for all prospects and customers on a consistent basis! If your company doesn't offer on going training seek out continuing education courses and people you know in business that can assist you. If your company offers training you should also in addition to that training continue to seek knowledge from other sources.
Be respectful of others, carefully listen and you will never appear to be pushy because people usually think if you take the time to listen to what they say it's important to you. Keep your ego in check, remember that everyone can make a valuable contribution in their own way and other team members deserve respect, too. Spend time with people more talented and driven than yourself and learn from them. Remember, there is always someone out there more knowledgeable than yourself.
Respect yourself, have a quiet confidence in your abilities, and a strong desire to use your time, talents, and skills to produce the best results. Respect family commitments, be well-balanced, and ready for work each day. Be assertive, ensuring you won't allow yourself to be used as a doormat by prospects who want to waste your time or abuse a relationship
You must be a problem-solver, be able to quickly assess a prospect's situation, and then come up with an approach to help the prospect accomplish their objectives. Don't be reactive, be proactive, be able to spontaneously look for ways to do the job better, to improve on past successes, to show better results even faster than before. Be able to approach obstacles and move past them. My belief is, learn from your mistakes, figure out ways to correct them, then move on???.. Next!
Be enthusiastic about what you do and how you do it, your curiosity should be stimulated and you should be inspired to continually seek knowledge to enhance your selling expertise. Enthusiasm comes from believing that you can make a difference, that you can improve someone's situation when they do business with you. You must at all times concentrate on providing quality service for future referrals that will help your business grow!...
