I was hired by ACSS, a security placement service company, to work at the Port of Portland. After only a month on the graveyard shift I was promoted to Site Security Supervisor on the day shift. My duties were more reflective of a personal assistant to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator and a building receptionist. My duties included training new staff in computer systems, multi-line and cell phone systems, credit card terminals, building emergency equipment, building access systems, along with company and office procedures. Assisting the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator with new hire orientations and employee reviews. Managing and coordinated the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator's calendar. Planning and scheduling meetings. Updating and organizing employee orientation and procedures manual. Giving daily written and verbal instructions to staff. Informing staff of new policies and procedures. Maintaining inventory of visitor and access badges. Responding to after hours emergency pages. Compiling and transmitting employee time sheet data. Reviewing and filing daily written reports....
