Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

Senator David Karem was my most influential mentor. He taught me to believe in myself, and to try things outside of my comfort zone. I was very intimidated working my first legislative session but Senator Karem took me under his wing. He showed me the ropes, taught me about the legislative process, and sparked a passion for politics in me. How would you describe your time at SUPER 8 MOTEL?

I hadn't had any hotel experience, but by the first day of training I had it down. I was scheduled for 2 weeks of training and my manager decided I only needed 2 days. I've done so well they've already given me a raise, but I want a job that will be long-term with room for advancement.

I was at this job for almost 3 years, and I went above and beyond what was asked. There were customers that would ask for me, and I really loved the job. In 3 years of work I only got 60 cents raise the entire time. That ultimately was the reason I left.

I started out as a cashier and within a month I was promoted to the office. Only 3 weeks after that I was given the 3 largest accounts the company had. Not even a month after I was asked to help build the company website, and given a 75cent raise. I got to attend the Miami boat show representing the company in their booth. I LOVED this job. I got to work up close with our State Senators. I was very involved in the legislative process and handled all Senate Amendments. I also supervised the Constitutional Pages making sure the Orders of the Day, Minutes, and Daily Action were copied, logged, and distributed correctly.
