Privacy Statement Jobster

At Jobster, we take your privacy very seriously. This means that we handle the data we learn about you confidentially, carefully, and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

This privacy statement explains how Jobster handles the personal data of people who view Jobster job listings, people who click on Jobster job listings, and people who visit the Jobster website.

Who is responsible for processing your data?

Jobster Adtech B.V. is responsible for processing your personal data. This means that Jobster Adtech B.V. determines, in compliance with applicable privacy laws, which data about you is processed, how it is done, for what purposes, and for how long. Jobster Adtech B.V. (hereinafter: 'Jobster' or 'we') processes your personal data.

Which personal data do we process from users?

Below you can find the data we may process:

When you view a Jobster job listing, we may process the following data:

- IP address

When you click on a Jobster job listing, it is recorded whether, after clicking on the listing, you also apply for the job. This is done using the “LocalStorage” feature of your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.). The company of the job listing and the URL that was clicked are stored in LocalStorage so that the click can be linked to a potential application at the respective company later on.

Why are we allowed to process this personal data?

We process the IP address and use LocalStorage to perform our role as an online job platform. This includes displaying job listings relevant to the website you are on or showing vacancies available in your (estimated) region. We also use the IP address to identify and exclude clicks from machines ("bots") from our reports. Therefore, Jobster processes your personal data to:

- Offer relevant job listings to users.

- Check if the country of the vacancy matches the user's country.

- Measure whether a user applies after clicking on a job listing.

- Estimate the number of unique users.

- Identify whether a click on a job listing is made by a human or a machine ("bot").

Why are we allowed to process this personal data?

Jobster is permitted to process this data under privacy laws because:

- Explicit consent is requested by the website you are visiting.

- It is necessary to protect our legitimate interest, where we first assess whether our interest outweighs your privacy interest.

If you do not want your IP address to be used by Jobster, you can send your IP address to info@jobster.com, and we will ensure it is no longer processed. Be aware that your IP address varies by location (home, work) and by the device used (phone, tablet, PC).

How do we protect your personal data?

IP addresses are stored in a secure database that only a few people have access to. IP addresses are not stored together with other data that could potentially refer to you as an individual. IP addresses are deleted from the database after a maximum of 45 days.

LocalStorage is only stored locally on your computer/device and is not accessible to third parties.

With which third parties do we share your personal data?

To carry out our services, we receive help from parties that process your data on our behalf. These include Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Analytics.
